Ernie - Yeah that's a possibility, but when we've played like that for the last 18 months apart from a few games..

Re: Perth Glory vs West Ham
ernie, I loved the cup win but it shouldn't handcuff us to a manager that I think I think is inflexible and refuses to change his ways. it's the perfect opportunity to change him, we have a bit of money, quite a few talented kids coming through yet we're constantly being linked with expensive hasbeens like maguire, jwp and palinha. winning the cup has made the jock cunt bullet proof in some people's eyes

Son was the only one missing from their full squad
We had Paqueta Aguerd Kehrer Benrahma Soucek Coufal Johnson & Antonio at home. Plus possibly our best 3 youngsters ... Marshall Kodua & Scarles. And whoever we spend the Rice £105m on.

Kane & Perisic are likely off as well
An absolute triumph for them!

Yes, I know its Spurs, but I find it strange to be so fixated on the result considering its preseason. Maybe some do see it as our cup final?

If you forget about the result, then we were awful in fitness and tactics. Spurs were miles ahead of us and that was their first game this season, and their first game under their new manager.

The negativety on here is incredible
Just over a month since winning our 1st cup in over 40 yrs our reserves/kids beat a full strength spurs side.
Certain posters on here are so fucking blinkered they cant even enjoy a win

Understand Perisic & LoCelso also want out
Typical Spurs to drag them and Kane to the other side of the world in a desperate attempt to beat a team 'they dont care about'.
Plus swapping out the whole team with fresh legs while we played on Saturday

Obviously our team is a long way from our best .... 8 players at home plus whoever we spend the Rice booty on.
Preseason results are immaterial but beating Spurs never is

Re: Perth Glory vs West Ham
To be fair it was the first time they played under him. If we had a new manager and played on the front foot like that creating all those chances I'd be far from unhappy and looking forward to seeing us progress. Not sure I'm looking forward to our progression under Moyes

The Ghost of Sven 10:37 Wed Jul 19
Re: Perth Glory vs West Ham
Harry the Hun is looking for the out door to Bayern and Son was their only regular not playing
We left 8 first team squad players at home plus the £105m money pot that used to be D Rice

I'm glad Tottenham are happy at that outcome ... cant beat a well below strength Hammers and Kane and his 30 PL goals off next week

Speak for yourself. I'm still buzzing about it personally.

But then I'm actually a WHU fan, unlike you.

I don't know why you feel compelled to say things like this. No-one is disappointed that we won our friendly games.

We are all happy that we fought off Tottenham's onslaught except for the goals scored.
They dominated us completely and had a stronger squad in Oz so probably should have.

The complaint is that we defend as a standard game plan. The team is drilled to defend deeply whoever the opposition is. Our game plan is not to attack except at set pieces or on the break from deep defence.

That is not a mentality that wins championships or gets a team into top 4. Moyes failed as Man Utd's manager and several other clubs so inflicts WHU with the only philosophy that keeps him employed.

His luck is that it suited us and worked well for his first season and a half. Then I guess the knackered players realised that that's all he knows and there will never be a switch to a more open style. That's why he looks for players that fit his system and C&H are now pointing out who is likely to take over from him when his contract ends.

Re: Perth Glory vs West Ham
I thought we did ok? And thought we took our chances very well, Scamacca took his goal with great confidence imo, thats only a good thing and the kids again shone.

Spurs may have had a bucket full of chances but fucked most of them up or we stalled them, the second was fortunate i thought, the Spurs player would have been surprised that went in!.

Re: Perth Glory vs West Ham
Popping into this thread to remind you that football games are won by goals, not shots that miss, or are saved (the reason that each team has a goalkeeper).

We scored three, they scored two. That means that we won.

Feel free to message me if there are any other parts of the game that you don't understand.

No the cup winning feeling didn’t last long Sold, as this is about our league campaign and it being utterly shit last season due to the tactics the same tactics being used (and this’ll give you a clue) this preSEASON….

I am enjoying the continuing silence. Haven't seen a spurs shirt for a good while. Let them get back to 2-2, got their hopes up, then pulled the table cloth from underneath them. Next up. The draw for European Football... swt

We won. We beat Spurs. Some people. Beads of misery, relishing their own sense of loss and futility. Chin up. We'll be dead soon. Love the Love.
